On Monday, banners were displayed on the outside of a 7,000 seat arena in Pikeville, displaying its new name, the Appalachian Wireless Arena.  Completed in 2005, the building formerly known as the East Kentucky Exposition Center, has welcomed hundreds of thousands of people through its doors for both public and private events.  Officials with Appalachian Wireless say the opportunity to enter into a naming rights agreement came at the right time, and they are excited to move forward.  In addition to the building’s name change, a new corporate sponsor was announced for the box office.  Community Trust Bank is now the exclusive box office sponsor for the Appalachian Wireless Arena.
