Elk Observation Area planned for Pike County

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. –  This spring, officials with the US Army Corps of Engineers and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife are planning to open a new elk viewing area in Pike County. The area, known to locals as Middlefield, is part of the Fishtrap Lake Wildlife Management area near Elkhorn City.  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Resource Specialist Brett Salyers says more information on the Pike County elk viewing area will be released as work on the project progresses, but he hopes the project will be complete before summer, 2019.
