EnerBlu CEO announces potential delays in project

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  A statement made by EnerBlu President and CEO Daniel Elliott at a Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday about a possible construction delay sparked a flurry of rumors about the future of the project.  The proposed battery manufacturing plant is set to be built at Pikeville’s Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park, but Elliot said Thursday that more work than anticipated will need to be done to prepare the site before construction can begin on one of the buildings.  Elliott said in his address to the Chamber members that the delay in construction could be as long as a year and cost upwards of 30 million dollars to fix.  Pikeville City Manager Philip Elswick spoke to EKB News about the announcement, and said while there may be delays, the project itself does not seem to be in jeopardy.
