LAWRENCE COUNTY, KY.–The Fallsburg Fire Chief turned himself over to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Thursday after being charged with theft and abuse of public trust.
According to the arrest warrant, between March 1st of 2016 and May 7th of 2017, 45-year old William Hall of Lousia used his position as fire chief to pay his personal residential electric bill through the account of the Fallsburg Fire Department and took cash and other property not belonging to him totaling in $5,609.62.
Hall will now face charges of theft by failure to make required disposition of property of less than 500 dollars, which is a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail and abuse of public trust under 10,000 dollars, a class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
