JOHNSON COUNTY, KY.-The drug epidemic not only affects the person who is using drugs, but their family members as well.
Police say that was the case Monday when they responded to a Hager Hill residence after receiving a call that a woman was fighting with family members. When deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they say that 30-year old Denieka Skeens of Paintsville jumped out of a window and was found hiding behind a neighbor’s house. After being placed into custody, family members allegedly told deputies that she had fought with her 62-year old mother, kicked her 4-year old son and had recently shot up the drug known as Flakka and had been wild for days.
Skeens was charged with 4th degree assault, public intoxication, fleeing and evading police and violation of an Emergency Protection Order and was then lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
