Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal fire overnight in Floyd County.

It happened just after 11pm Monday on US 23 in Prestonsburg. We are told after the fire was brought under control, a search was conducted and one person was located dead inside the home.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
