A house was heavily damaged in an early morning fire in Pikeville.  According to authorities, Pikeville Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 2:00 AM to a structure fire on Cherry Lane. When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the roof line of the residence. The home was unoccupied and under renovation. Firefighters extinguished the flames however the home was damaged extensively. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Pikeville Fire Department. Assisting at the scene were members of the Pikeville Police Department, Pikeville Emergency Management and UMG.
