MARROWBONE, Ky. — A Pike County firefighter has been seriously injured while responding to the strong storms that hit the area late Sunday and early Monday.
According to a spokesperson for the Pike County Firefighter’s Association, Marrowbone Volunteer Fire Department member Jimmy Belcher was struck by a car while working to remove a tree from a Pike County roadway. Belcher, the spokesperson says, was listed as being in critical condition following the incident.
Rounds of strong storms have caused damage across the area. Reports of roofs being damaged and trees being felled have prompted responses from many local fire departments across the region.
