MCDOWELL, KY.–A Floyd County woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash last night in McDowell.
Police say a van driven by Mary Risner veered off of Route 680 and struck a tree, then rolled several times before coming to rest against a structure. Risner was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not determined why her vehicle left the roadway, but they say speed may have been a factor. Toxicology reports are pending and the incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
