Floyd County community leaders have paired up with professional dancers and dance instructors to raise money for the Floyd County Homeless Shelter through a dancing competition appropriately titled “Dancing For Shelter”. This event will be at the Mountain Arts Center on November 1st at 7:00 PM and will include judge executives, mayors, insurance agents, and many more. Board Attorney for the Floyd County Homeless Shelter, Mickey McGuire says that the idea came about when he was asked to help get the Floyd County Homeless Shelter started. McGuire says that many folks in our rural community that are homeless are afraid or ashamed to ask for help and he wants to just help get people back on their feet and back to work. Tickets range from $18-$28 and are available at www.macarts.com, or you can purchase on-site.
