Prestonsburg, Ky.–A Floyd County man is behind bars after being indicted on a charge of 3rd degree rape.
According to court documents, between January 1st and August 31st, 42-year-old Clinton Thomas of Prestonsburg allegedly had sex with a drug court participant, while he formerly worked with drug court as an employee of Mountain Comprehensive Care.
Third-degree rape is a class D felony which is punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison.
Thomas remains lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center under a 1,000 dollar cash bond.
Floyd County District Judge, Eric Hall, says he hopes people realize that no individual represents Drug Court.
“The one thing that I hope that the public would know is that I would hope that any one incident would not detract from the overall good that has been provided through drug court. We know that we have saved many lives and changed the lives of so many of our participants. That’s the goal in drug court and all recovery, is to provide better lives for folks who have fallen victim to drug addiction and abuse.”
