PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Authorities are searching for an inmate who walked away from a work-release detail this morning.
The Floyd County Detention Center confirmed that Bill David Barnett, 44, of Langley, was discovered missing around 11 a.m. Thursday, while he was part of a work detail at the Beaver Valley Golf Course in Allen.
Barnett was a state inmate serving his sentence in the Floyd County jail. He was serving a five-year sentence for a probation violation after being convicted of flagrant nonsupport back in 2018.
Authorities do not believe Barnett poses much danger to the public, but they ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact police immediately.
