Floyd man dies after being struck by car

IVEL, Ky. — A pedestrian who was hit by a car on U.S. 23 at Ivel Monday night has died.

According to Kentucky State Police, James Boyd, 65, of Garrett, walked into the path of a Toyota RAV4 driven by Nathan Egler, 26, of Evansville, Ind., just after 8 p.m., near the Alpike Motel and was struck.



Boyd was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
