The University of Pikeville football team improved to 2-4 on the season after a dominant statement win over conference opponent Point University, 62-10.

Quarterback Xavier Malone had another terrific outing through the air, completing 25 passes for 415 yards and four touchdowns. Malone now has 2,718 passing yards on the season with 13 touchdowns. He currently leads the NAIA in passing yards per game at 385.2, helping make Pikeville’s offense one of the top five in the nation.

Jordan Williams led the receiving corps with six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. Cobe Stribling added four receptions for 83 yards and a score, while Amon Williams contributed five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.

The victory moves the Bears to 2-0 in conference play. Pikeville will return to action this Saturday at 6 p.m. against another conference opponent, the Bluefield Rams, in Bluefield, Virginia.

The Bears had a slow start to the season, but conference play changes everything. Pikeville is now on the hunt for a back-to-back conference championship—driven by grit, unity, and unfinished business.
