PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A former state representative now stands convicted of a federal crime for a second time.

Wendell Keith Hall appeared in U.S. District Court in Pikeville today to plead guilty to a single count of identity theft. Five other charges of identity theft, wire fraud and making false statements will be dismissed in exchange for the plea.
Hall had been accused of falsely claiming that one of his companies held worker’s compensation and liability insurance, and posing as another officer of the company when he emailed falsified insurance documents as proof.
Hall will now have at least two more years added to his prison sentence. He is currently serving time in federal prison after being found guilty of bribing a mine inspector to overlook violations at his mines.
He will be sentenced May 24.
