Former Trooper Dies In Crash

Manchester, KY — A former Kentucky State Police Trooper, who also worked for the Jackson Police Department, was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon on the Hal Rogers Parkway in Manchester. Kentucky State Police say their initial investigation indicates a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Donald L. Holliday of Hazard, was travelling eastbound on the Parkway when Holliday lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line and collided with a commercial vehicle headed westbound. The driver of the commercial vehicle, 46-year-old Eddie W. Stewart of Manchester, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Holliday was pronounced deceased at Advent Health Hospital. Drugs and alcohol are not suspect in the crash. As a Trooper, Holliday predominantly worked out of the Harlan Post.
