After numerous delays, the new Jenkins Save-A-Lot grocery store is nearly ready to open its doors.
The store will open Valentine’s Day, and with that opening, the City of Jenkins will finally have a grocery once again.
The store is owned and will be operated by Saver Group, which operates 53 Save-A-Lot stores in five states. Jenkins will be the 54th. Saver Group officials said they are happy to be in Jenkins, and believe the store, which created 16 new jobs, will be successful.
The store is tentatively planned to open at 9 a.m. February 14th with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
