ABINGDON, Va. — Four of the 10 people arrested on charges of distributing meth and fentanyl in southwestern Virginia have signaled that they intend to enter guilty pleas, while an 11th person has now also been arrested.
Back in August, authorities began a roundup of a dozen suspects charged in connection with a drug ring centered on Wise County, where many of the defendants live.

Now, Matthew Ryan “Red” Addington, Ashley Linden Beverly Jr., Brittany Chantae Rose and Cody Allen Rose have each signed plea agreements agreeing to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl and one count of distributing fentanyl. Each now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, all the way up to a potential life sentence for the conspiracy charge.
Meanwhile, an 11th person has now been arrested in the case.
Michael Adam Hicks is charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of meth and conspiracy to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl. He is being held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail at Abingdon.
