Gov. Bevin praises Johnson County Sheriff’s Department

“I am just really proud of the way law enforcement in this community has stepped up.”

PAINTSVILLE, KY.–Ten days ago, Johnson County was shocked by a mass shooting and suicide that claimed five lives. While it is impossible to find anything positive from that incident, the performance of law enforcement under horrifying circumstances has earned praise. And today, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin dropped in to commend the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

“I am just really proud of the way law enforcement in this community has stepped up. They do a great job and I have tremendous appreciation for law enforcement in general, but at times like this when such horrific tragedy strikes it makes their job just that much more difficult. I wanted to encourage them and to thank them for the incredible job they have been doing and when tragedy strikes close to home and it touches people they know it makes it very personal and very raw, but they do their job anyway because they are professionals.”

Sheriff Price told EKB News that he and his department really appreciate the governor taking the time out of his busy schedule to come and thank them.
