HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Tug Valley’s Baisden captains Class A all-state team

Tug Valley won its first-ever girls’ high school basketball championship earlier this month at the Charleston Coliseium.

The Lady Panthers, who finished 15-2, were the most dominating team in the field of eight.

Four members of the 2021 team has been named to the West Virginia girls’ Class A all-state teams, including junior Kaylea Baisden, who was chosen as captain of the elite squad.

She becomes the first girls player in school history to earn the status as captain.

Baisden was joined on the first team by senior Makayla May. Senior Alyssa Newsome was a second-team pick while junior Audrey Evans was honorable mention.
