HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Elliott powers Blackcats past Warriors

Prestonsburg continued its dominance of East Ridge as the Blackcats cruised to a 26-6 win over the Warriors in the Pike County Bowl matchup played at Hillard Howard Field in Pikeville on Saturday night.

Running back Dalton Elliott had a big game with rushing touchdowns of 47 and two yards. He also had a 48-yard D reception. Elliott rushed eight times for 94 yards. He caught three passes for 89 yards,

Jacob Rose led the ground attack with 127 yards on 21 carries. Alex Harris added a fourth-quarter touchdown run.

East Ridge running back Isaiah Adkins ran 10 times for 63 yards and scored on a 29-yard run in the third quarter.

Both teams will be back in action this weekend as the Blackcats (2-0) travel to Paintsville (1-1), Kickoff is 7:30 pm, Sept. 1, and the Warriors (1-1) visit River View, WV (1-0). 7 pm, Sept. 1.
