
Defending regional champion Prestonsburg’s Dylan Moore scored three goals and assisted on two others to help lead the Blackcats to a 7-0 victory over Martin County in the season opener played at The Rock on Tuesday night.
Matt Burchett finished with one goal and two assists while Grant Justice added one goal and one assist. Isaiah Collins and Justin Hunt added one goal each.
Goalkeeper Jacob Martin was outstanding in recording the shutout win.

Letcher Central struggled in its home opener as Powell County rolled to an 8-2 win at Cougar Field in the season opener played at Tuesday night.
Joseph Campbell accounted for both Central goals in the loss. Skylar Holbrook and Zackary Cornett had one assist each.

Lauren Johnson finished with four goals and two assists while Anna Burchett scored two goals and assisted on two others. Lauren Patton had one goal. Chloe Collins had an assist.
Goalkeeper Crystal Allen added just one goal, scored by Martin County’s Kaitlyn Guaze off an assist from Caitlyn Horn.

Pikeville’s Allison Atkins scored the lone goal against Hazard in the opening half and the Panthers held on for the victory in the season opener played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Lawrence County standout Ellie Webb knocked home five goals and assisted on one other to power the Lady Bulldogs to a 10-1 victory over Belfry in the season opener play at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.
Jasmine Justice added two goals while Emerson Elliot had one goal and four assists. Alyssa Moore and Camran Diamond added one goal apiece. Alyssa Howard had two assists and Brylee Blair added one.
Goalkeeper Kaison Ward was solid in allowing just a single goal.
