HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Ford, pitches, hits Pikeville past Valley

Pikeville junior standout Emily Ford struck out 12 batters and pitched a no-hitter as the Lady Panthers scored a 2-0 win over Shelby Valley in a game played at Robinson Creek on Wednesday night.

Ford also belted a home run, doubled, and accounted for both runs as Pikeville moved to 22-10. Larren Collins singled, walked and scored while Olivia Hall added one hit.

The Bat Kats dropped to 9-16.

Paintsville fell behind in the bottom of the third inning to Jackson City and the Lady Tigers were on the short end of a 5-1 score in a game played on Wednesday night.

Laney Bledsoe was the losing pitcher as Paintsville moved to 13-17.

Taylor Hannah belted a solo home run to account for the Lady Tigers lone run. Chessa Collins had a pair of singles.

Johnson Central’s offense put up big numbers against Wolfe County as the Lady Eagles cruised to an 11-2 win on Wednesday night.

Madelyn Vaughn had two hits and knocked in three runs while Abigail William added a pair of hits, scored twice, and batted in two runs.

Kendal Hall and Jaden Bowling each drove in a pair of runs as the Lady Eagles improved to 24-5.

Emily Adkins was the winning pitcher.
