HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Johnson Central beats Martin County; East Ridge, Martin County shine in tournaments

Johnson Central took a pair of close sets and the Lady Eagles went on to beat Martin County, 3-0, in a match played on Tuesday night.

Randi Delng had 11 kills and eight digs n the 25-20, 25-19 and 25-14 win. Mayson Delong and Sydney May added 10 kills each while Ava Cochran finished with 31 assists and seven digs.

Prestonsburg rallied in the final set to beat Pike Central, 3-2, in a match played on Tuesday night.

Molly Boyd had a big match with 32 kills, 10 assists and 16 digs in the 25-13, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, and 15-7 win.

Mya Burgess had nine kills, 33 assists, 13 digs and five aces while Jada Slone finished with 10 kills, seven assists and 15 digs. Kennedy Green had nine kills and 11 digs.

East Ridge went on the road to Shelby Valley and earned a hard-fought 3-0 win over the Lady Kats in a match played on Monday night.

Hannah Blackburn had 11 kills and two blocks in the 25-22, 25-20, and 25-16 win.

Sylvia Ratliff totaled seven kills and Madelyn Robinson added five kills.

Courtlin Phillips finished with 12 digs and three aces while Sarah Woods had 24 assists and five digs.

Kyra Looney had 14 kills, six digs and three aces in the loss. Jessica Prater added 20 digs and Lauren Hawkins totaled 12.
