High Speed Chase Leads To One Arrest

Floyd County, KY — A high-speed chase in Floyd County Wednesday night resulted in one person arrested. According to authorities, Chief Kenny Stidham with the Martin Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a motorcycle on KY-80 in Martin. Upon initiating the stop the motorcycle sped off at a high rate of speed down KY-80 eastbound onto KY-122. The chase ended on Bucks Branch in Floyd County. Chief Stidham arrested 47-year-old Michael V. Collins of Prestonsburg and lodged him in the Floyd County Detention Center on multiple traffic violations, DUI and Fleeing or Evading Police. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department and Prestonsburg City Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
