With near freezing temperatures in the forecast tonight, officials are warning you to take safety seriously when trying to heat your home.

The U-S Fire Administration says heating is the second leading cause of house fires, second only to cooking. We spoke with fire officials about what you can do to keep your family safe as temperatures drop.

Also check the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure you have one installed inside and outside each sleeping area and on every level of your home.
