Identity released of pedestrian killed on U.S. 23

Floyd County, Ky.– After 8pm this evening Kentucky State Police and the Allen Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on U.S. 23 in the community of Ivel.

Upon arrival they found a male subject lying in the southbound lanes in front of a trailer park located across from the Ivel BP gas station and Alpike Motel.

Once the victim’s family had been notified Floyd County Deputy Coroner Chuck Hall tells EKB News that 51-year old Berry Allen Reynolds of Charlie Benton Hollow of Mud Creek was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is still no word on the driver of the vehicle that struck Reynolds. Ekb News will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they are made available.

The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
