More than 100 inmates, or 25% of the population at the Pike County Detention Center participate in the jail’s work release program. Jailer Brian Morris says the program is voluntary, and open to inmates charged and/or convicted of non-violent and non-sexual crimes. Morris says he believes the program is helping prepare those participating in the program for life outside the jail when they are released.
