PRATER CREEK, KY.– An investigation into a drive-by shooting continues in Floyd County.
According to Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt, at around 8pm Monday an unknown vehicle drove past a home in Prater Creek firing at least 5 rounds at the house. Initially one of those rounds was found to have penetrated the home. Today’ investigation revealed that two more rounds hit the house and has given them several leads.
“After they did hear the first shooting they did go to the window or the door and noticed a vehicle and what direction it was traveling in, so that helped us get maybe a timeline and direction that they were traveling. From that we were able to go to some more neighbors and ascertain some information or video footage to try to track down whoever this person or persons are.
This is a very strange incident here where it happened. It’s not common that this kind of activity goes on. However, in the Prater Creek community as a whole, in some of the creeks and hollers there, they have had some similar acts of violence in the last little bit. Some more shootings that have occurred in the last several weeks that are being investigated, but so far no arrests have been made in those either.”
Sheriff Hunt went on to ask that if anyone has any information to call them at 606-886-6171 or you can call their anonymous tip line at 606-949-2020.
