John Russell Hall appears in court

The man accused of murdering Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton appeared today in a Pike County courtroom.

John Russell Hall is facing a capital murder charge for Hamilton’s death, which occurred outside a home on Hurricane Creek in Pike County in March. Today, he appeared in Judge Eddy Coleman’s courtroom for a status hearing in the case.

In related news, two of the people accused of hiding John Hall after the murder, Jeanne Blackburn and Amanda Dotson, pleaded guilty today in court. All four defendants who were charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension have now pleaded guilty.

All four are scheduled for sentencing on November 29th. John Russell Hall will also be in court for another status hearing that same day….which ironically, is Officer Scotty Hamilton’s birthday.
