PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  Nine months following the murder of Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton, John Russell Hall admitted in court that he, indeed, was the man who pulled the trigger. Hall entered a guilty plea and was sentenced this morning in Pike County.  Prior to today’s plea agreement, Pike Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Bartley was seeking the death penalty for Hall.  EKB News was in the courtroom for both the plea agreement and sentencing.
