South Williamson, KY — In a joint investigation, authorities in Kentucky and West Virginia arrested 27-year-old Amanda Dempsey of Lenore, West Virginia on a variety of charges. According to the arrest citation, Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a call at South Williamson ARH, where emergency room staff advised that Dempsey was extremely under the influence and was attempting to leave with her three-year old child. When KSP Troopers arrived, they found West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Troopers already on scene following up on a child endangerment complaint they had received against Dempsey. Their complaint indicated that Dempsey’s child had possibly been injected with meth. KSP Troopers indicate that Dempsey was a danger to herself after she admitted to taking meth. Dempsey became irate and threatened to kill everybody as she was placed under arrest. Dempsey was charged with Public Intoxication under a controlled substance, Wanton Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct, Menacing, Resisting Arrest and Terroristic Threatening and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. The child was placed in the custody of West Virginia Social Services. WVSP have obtained arrests warrants and extradition papers against Dempsey.
