Pikeville, Ky.–Founded in 1999, Judi’s Place for Kids has been working with the community to provide hope and healing to abused children of this region.
That work continued tonight at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville as Judi’s Place and the community came together for a telethon to raise money to better serve the children of region.
“It’s amazing just to see how much the community has shared posts; they’ve made positive comments about the role of Judi’s Place in the community and it really does remind us that we are making a difference and just how much more awareness there is now about child abuse than when I started doing this 12-years ago. It really does show us that we are making a difference. Right now we are just shy of raising 13,000 dollars that will all go locally to help provide services to abused and neglected children where they can now find a volunteer advocate who can speak up for them in family court, so we are definitely looking for volunteers as well and hope we have gotten that message out this evening as well that it really does take the whole community to help children.”
If you missed the opportunity to donate during the telethon you can still do so by going to www.judiplace.org
