High Intensity Patrol Event Held In Floyd County

FLOYD COUNTY, KY. — LOTS OF BLUE LIGHTS WERE SEEN IN FLOYD COUNTY AS THE PRESTONSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT CONDUCTED A HIGH INTENSITY PATROL EVENT TUESDAY NIGHT THAT LASTED INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. ACCORDING TO POLICE, THE PURPOSE IS TO INCREASE OFFICER AND POLICE PRESENCE IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS TO COMBAT ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. DURING THIS EVENT IN THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS, SEVERAL ARRESTS WERE MADE AND CHARGES FILED. THOSE ARRESTED WERE LODGED IN THE FLOYD COUNTY DETENTION CENTER AND INCLUDE:

Larry Delong of Prestonsburg:
Operating on a suspended or revoked operators license
Failure to maintain insurance
No registration/receipt
Failure to appear warrant issued by Floyd County District Court

Amy N. Gayheart of Prestonsburg:
Two warrants for failure to pay fines, costs or fees issued by Floyd County District Court

James Clayton Johnson of Dwale
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol (aggravating circumstances)
Operating on a suspended or revoked operators license
Possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Reckless driving
Failure to maintain insurance
Failure to appear warrant issued by Floyd County District Court

Stephen Clark Vanover of Auxier:
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol
Failure to maintain insurance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
several other moving violations

Billy R. Craft of Prestonsburg:
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol
Possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine)
Possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Failure to maintain insurance
No valid registration

Jody Tackett of Prestonsburg:
Non-moving violations and warrant for failure to pay fines, costs or fees issued by Floyd County District Court.

THESE ARRESTS ARE IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL OTHER STOPS THAT DID NOT LEAD TO ARRESTS BUT SUMMONS TO COURT FOR VIOLATIONS.
