Kentucky Governor Vetos Retirement Bill, Special Session To Be Called

Frankfort, KY — Governor Matt Bevin used his veto power Tuesday when he vetoed House Bill 358 in its entirety. The Bill was an act relating to the Kentucky Employees Retirement system and declaring an emergency. In his veto statement, Bevin said that, “parts of the bill violate both the moral and legal obligation we have to these very retirees.” The governor went on to say he will be calling the General Assembly in for a special called session prior to July 1 to work on this issue.
