Ky. positivity rate continues to fall

FRANKFORT, Ky. — After surging earlier this month in the wake of the holidays, Kentucky is continuing to see coronavirus cases fall.

More than 2,400 new cases were reported on Wednesday, bringing the total to nearly 353,000.

Forty-seven more Kentuckians have died, raising the death toll to 3,542.

Nearly 1,600 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including 387 in intensive care and 225 on ventilators.

The state’s positivity rate is currently 9.35 percent, continuing to fall from a high of more than 12 percent earlier in January.
