Frankfort, KY — Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary August unemployment rate was 4.4. percent, that according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency within the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet in its monthly report released today. The unemployment rate for August was up from the 4.3 percent reported for July. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for August was 3.7 percent, unchanged from July, that according to the U.S. Department of Labor. County unemployment numbers will be released next week.
