Las Vegas preview

NASCAR’s top two series head to Las Vegas this weekend to begin the Round of 8. As we sit with only four races left to go in the NASCAR season in the Cup and Xfinity series, it’s now or never for these drivers.

We’ll start things off with the Xfinity Series as the Round of 8 begins with Connor Zilisch 57 points above the cut line and 3 races to ensure his spot in the Championship 4, given he hasn’t finished worse than 5th in a race since late April, you have to think a spot in the Championship 4. Justin Allgaier, his JRM teammate, comes in +24 but then it is pretty tight from there as 3rd-6th place is separated by only 17 points.

XFINITY WIN PREDICTION: Justin Allgaier

TOP 5: Connor Zilisch, Ryan Seig, Austin Hill, Jesse Love

Up next we look at the Cup Series which you could throw a blanket over the top 5 as they are only separated by 12 points. Denny Hamlin claims the top spot there to begin the Round of 8 and is closely followed by Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson and William Byron. This race is sure to be a good one as the mile and a half tracks have produced incredible racing this season.

Larson and Hamlin have to be considered the two favorites with the momentum they currently have but you can’t count out guys like Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott. We actually saw a driver win at Las Vegas in the Spring that is no longer a part of the playoffs, that being Josh Berry.

CUP WIN PREDICTION: Kyle Larson

TOP 5: Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe, Chase Elliott

Be sure to check us out on Monday as we will have a full rundown of the weekend’s results and how things look before the sport heads back east to Talladega, where anything can happen. Las Vegas is probably the calmest race track left in the season and would be a great place to lock up a spot in the Championship 4. Until next time!
