State troopers obtained a search warrant for the home of Michael Hudnall, 50, of Louisa, after they received a report that an explicit image of a child younger than 12 had been uploaded from his account on the messaging app Kik.

Hudnall provided police with access to two tablets and a cellphone, telling officers they contained pornography, including bestiality. A search of the devices turned up the child sexual abuse material that prompted the search.

When a trooper informed Hudnall that he was under arrest, he reported turned away, tucked his arms in front of his chest, and told officers they would have to shoot him. However, officers were able to handcuff him after taking him to the ground.

Hudnall has numerous felony convictions on his record, including one in 2008 for distributing child porn and another in 2015 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Hudnall is now being held on charges of possessing and distributing child porn and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
