A Letcher County man is in jail, after police found him with several different illegal drugs.
Early Saturday morning, Pikeville Police stopped a vehicle for having only one working tail light. But, the passenger drew attention to himself, making movements toward the floor. Under the passenger’s seat, officers found a plastic bag that had been ripped open containing a crystal like substance believed to be meth as well as a .25 caliber handgun.

The passenger, 36 year old Tony Coleman of Jenkins told police he ripped the bag open and ate some of the meth and that the handgun was his. Police also found other prescription drugs and marijuana in the vehicle. Coleman is facing multiple felony drug charges as well as carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He also had multiple active arrest warrants, including one for flagrant non support.
Coleman remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
