Pike County, Ky.–For nearly a year we have been following the inspiring story of James Justice, a 46-year old powerlifter who has dreams of owning his own and gym that will offer free membership to Veterans and teach children the dangers of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.
This year we have seen James win powerlifting competitions in his division at the state and national level and break powerlifting records in the process.
James recently competed in the IPL (International Powerlifting League) World Championship in Atlanta Georgia and not only did he place 1st in his division, but again broke several powerlifting records.
“I ended up breaking three state records in squat, bench and deadlift. I also broke three national records in bench, squat and deadlift. In my age group I did 562 squat, 562 deadlift and 362 bench. I didn’t know until two days later that I also broke them in the men’s open in the 275 class, which is what I competed in. That was three records in the bench, squat and deadlift. I also qualified for the World Cup Championship in Moscow, Russia and its going to be a little more difficult to get there and I’m going to try to do it, but I just need some sponsors.”
