PAINTSVILLE, KY.–A Johnson County man has been arrested, after police say he tried to cause his ex-girlfriend to wreck last night … as she was on her way to the courthouse to file for an emergency protective order against him.
44-year-old James M. Martin, of Sitka, is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, which is a felony. Police say followed the woman along Route 172, passed her and then slammed on his brakes, almost causing a collision. He also allegedly refused to stop following her. The woman told police she was afraid he would kill her. He now faces a felony charge, punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison. He remains in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
