Man dead in Floyd motorcycle crash

A Floyd County man was killed in a motorcycle crash.

According to a statement from Kentucky State Police, the operator of the motorcycle, Shayne Hall, 41, of Hi Hat, was killed in the crash Tuesday afternoon. The statement says KSP Post 9 in Pikeville received a call advising of the crash just before 2 p.m.

The crash happened along Ky. 122 at Bevinsville. The KSP statement says the investigation into the crash indicates that Hall lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail and a utility pole before being ejected from the motorcycle. Hall succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash and was pronounced dead by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing by Kentucky State Police. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the crash.
