After several hours of searching the Big Sandy river for a man who had possibly drowned, the search was called off. Officials with the Floyd County Emergency Management Office say Tony Wright has been located and is safe. No other details have been released at this time.
Around noon, calls were made from a homeless camp under the Harold Bridge, saying Wright had gone into the water and not come back up. Crews from several different police, fire and rescue agencies responded and searched in the water and on land. However, the search was suspended around 4pm when it was reported that Wright may have been located. Just before 5pm, it was confirmed by officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
