Wise County, VA — Sentencing was held for a Pound, Virginia man who shot a woman. 36-year-old Brian Patrick Williams pleaded guilty in June to malicious wounding, abduction and using a firearm in a felony. He had faced Attempted Murder 1st degree charge but that was amended. Authorities say Williams was armed and kept a former girlfriend from leaving his home and then shot her in the arm. According to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Williams shot the woman and stood over her with a gun while she suffered, showing no mercy or remorse. Williams was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
