Magoffin County, Ky.–A Salyersville man is jailed on drug charges after allegedly telling police officers he trades drugs for sex.

It began when a Social Services worker called Kentucky State Police requesting assistance with a referral at an Elam Street residence in Salyersville. The worker told dispatch that a convicted felon at the residence had a gun at the home around three children and there was suspected drug activity.

When officers arrived they made contact with 48-year old Charles Chandler who allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine and gave the officers a total of 15 grams of meth and 2 grams of what is believed to be heroin, a metal spoon, 80 small clear plastic bags, a set of scales, over 1,800 in cash dollars in cash and a rifle. Chandler then allegedly told officers that he did not sell drugs that he just trades them for sex with other women.

Chandler was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 2-counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
