Man arrested for trying to cash stolen lottery tickets

lotteryPIKEVILLE , Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested, after he allegedly attempted to cash $150 worth of stolen lottery tickets.

Police say 28-year old Justin Smith of Pikeville went to the Millard Double Kwik and tried to cash lottery tickets that had been stolen from the Chloe Double Kwik. After being unable to cash them there, he then tried to cash them at a lottery machine in the Shelbiana Food City.

Smith has been charged with lottery fraud, unlawful access to a computer and receiving stolen property. He remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
