Madison Lawson, a former Phelps High School student has been accepted into the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Center. Even through adversity of being diagnosed with spina bifida at a young age, she overcomes any obstacle in her way. Madison’s former teacher at Phelps High School, Brandy Smith describes Lawson as shy at first, but will absolutely steal your heart after she warms up to you. Smith mentions that Lawson’s grandparents are now in custody of her and that Madison has improved every aspect of her life, including the perseverance to  strive for success in school. Speaking from my experience of meeting Madison, I am certain that she will be moving on to a bigger and brighter future and should also be an inspiration to those who think life is just too hard for them.
