The Mingo County Health Department is confirming the county’s eighth case of COVID-19.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the health department says a 29-year-old male who exhibited “mild symptoms” of the virus had tested positive and is isolating at home. The health department says all those who were in close contact with him are being notified.
The health department also notes that this latest patient “was a close contact with a prior case.”
The health department says the case is the eighth in the county out of 978 tests conducted thus far. The county also has two probable cases, the statement says. The county has experienced one COVID-19-related death. The health department says Mingo County currently has four active COVID-19 cases.
