INEZ, Ky. – A Martin County man was arrested on Monday, after a police investigation connected him to a recent theft of more than a thousand dollars worth of power tools. On October 14h, a Martin County resident reported that someone stole three Stihl weed eaters and a Chainsaw from his garage. Later that day, Martin County Deputy Chris Todd stopped a 2005 White Ford Mustang, after witnessing the driver, 31 year old Tommy Fletcher, lose control of the vehicle. Inside, the deputy saw three weed eaters that, according to the citation, Fletcher claimed to know nothing about. On Sunday, deputies were able to view security footage of the theft, and matched the vehicle to the one Deputy Todd stopped. Monday morning, deputies obtained a warrant, and arrested Tommy Fletcher, charging him with 3rd degree burglary, a felony. The weed eaters and chainsaw were recovered and returned to the owner. Fletcher remains lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
